Almyra Authentic italian by the sea
In keeping with the hotel’s overarching inclination for Mediterranean themes, Almyra journeys to Italy for daily lunch and dinner.
Positioned at the northernmost tip of the property and overlooking the sea, the restaurant presents a menu crafted by Chef Athinagoras Kostakos, where Italian dishes incorporate sustainably sourced, local ingredients for an assemblage of meals that are both fresh and authentic.
Visiting diners can expect dishes such as local fresh fish, summery salads, pasta and risotti and one of the dozen or so pizzas prepared in the restaurant’s outdoor stone oven, which is fueled by the heaps on firewood on display.
Meals are rounded up with a number of sweet treats including a decadent pavlova served with meringue, vanilla ice cream and red fruits, and the chocolate crémeux; a supreme mix of feuilletine, praline and coconut crumble.
The design - Almyra Restaurant
Bolstered by a well-executed menu, the occasion-worthy restaurant is elevated by chic interiors that nod to a marina theme, strengthened by a gentle palette of blue and white that also nod to the Greek flag.
Shielded from the beating sun by a bamboo covered wooden pergola, the restaurant is notable for its lack of walls, the result being a sprawling open plan space where the soothing breeze of the ocean is literally close enough to touch.
Chairs woven from strands of white- and navy-colored straw surround washed oak tables and banquette styled seating honed from white concrete and cushioned with navy upholstery.
Whitewashed walls, decorated with sequences of gilded mirrors, about a large in-built wine cooler in which a wide selection of local and international labels are housed and offered to accompany the lunches and dinners served here daily.
Mouries Restaurant - Crete’s true soul
Like a step back in time, Mouries offers a snapshot of a traditional Crete. In a space styled as a domestic courtyard, where oversized stone pots, copious mulberry trees, and an abundance of plants take centre stage, Mouries pays homage to Crete’s most time-honored recipes via Chef Lefteris Iliadis’ authentic menu.
In alignment with the Cretan diet, where greens and vegetables, wild herbs, high quality meat and seafood, and olive oil are revered, dishes such are suitably honest and simple.
This sees plates such as Xynochondros Cretan frumenty brought to life with seasonal vegetables picked from the hotel’s own garden, and a range of meats and fish cooked ‘parastia’ style over an open fire in Mouries’ central outdoor kitchen island which, true to authenticity, fully operates without the use of electricity, relying solely on an outdoor stone oven and grill to prepare dishes.

A selection of artisanal products and delicious breakfast favorites are presented on a Cretan table, including Cretan mountain honey; regional cold cuts; famous Cretan gruyere cheese, spoon sweets & grape must jelly, local bananas from Malia and figs, freshly-squeezed juices & oven-baked bread and of course the famous Greek coffee brewed in “hovoli”.
The seasonally curated menu is prepared by our Chef Lefteris Iliadis, at the restaurant’s open kitchen, allowing cheerful interaction with our guests, and features some of the island’s most celebrated recipes, like the delicious Cretan cheese pie!

Incorporating ingredients garnered from the hotel’s own grounds, the varied offerings present a strong focus on Greek recipes, while a daily changing Cretan table displays a spread of specialty dishes and ingredients from the island.
